PROVEN ON THE TOOLS

I built a field service system for Fenner's service team that schedulers, managers and technicians used every day for years.

It ran the whole service operation: quoting work, scheduling technicians across sites, managing jobs, tracking staff records and compliance, maintaining equipment and reporting on utilisation.

People who used it have since moved to other service companies, and the first thing many of them asked for was the same system. That's why I'm rebuilding it from scratch, on modern technology, faster on a phone in the field and easier to shape around each business.

You get software designed from real experience of how service teams work, without paying to reinvent the basics, and tailored to the parts of your operation that make you different.

HOW IT WORKS

StepWhat happens
1. Quote Build quotes from your rates, labour and parts, send them for approval and turn accepted quotes into jobs without re-typing anything.
2. Schedule Drag jobs onto a schedule that shows who's available, who holds the right tickets and inductions for the site, and where clashes are.
3. Dispatch Technicians get job details, site information, contacts and history on their phone, with changes pushed through as they happen.
4. On site Work through checklists, record hours and parts, take photos and capture a customer signature, all from the job sheet.
5. Close and report Completed jobs flow through to invoicing, equipment service history updates automatically, and managers see utilisation and job profitability.

BUILT FOR INDUSTRIAL SERVICE TEAMS

NeedHow it's handled
Compliance Tickets, licences, inductions and medicals for every technician, with expiry alerts and a check before anyone is scheduled to a site they're not cleared for.
Equipment Service history, inspection records and maintenance schedules for your customers' equipment and your own tools and vehicles.
Multi-day and crew jobs Shutdowns, multi-technician crews and work spread over days or weeks, not just single call-outs.
Your process Your own job types, checklists, approval steps and reports, rather than bending your business around a generic app.
Your other systems Connects to Xero and the tools you already use, and brings your existing customer, site and equipment data across.

QUESTIONS

Why not use simPRO, ServiceM8 or another off-the-shelf app?

Off-the-shelf field service apps suit many trade businesses well. Industrial service companies often find they cover most of the job but not the parts that matter most to them, like site compliance, crew and shutdown scheduling, equipment history or their own reporting. That's when a system built around your process pays off.

Is this an off-the-shelf product?

No. It's built for your business, starting from a design that has already been proven in a busy service operation. You get the essentials working quickly, and your time and budget go into the parts that are specific to you.

Does it work on technicians' phones?

Yes. Technicians use it from any phone or tablet, with large buttons and simple screens designed for use on site, wearing gloves if need be. It can be added to the home screen like an app.

Can you bring across our existing data?

Yes. Customers, sites, equipment, staff records and job history can be imported from spreadsheets or your current system, so you start with everything in place.

How long until we're using it?

It's delivered in stages. Scheduling and job sheets usually come first, so your team can start using the core within weeks, with quoting, compliance and reporting added in the stages that follow.

What does it cost?

It depends on the size of your team and which parts you need. After a free first meeting I'll scope it with you and give you a fixed price for each stage, plus a monthly fee for hosting, support and improvements.

LET'S TALK

Dave Robartson, field service software developer
Dave Robartson, Director of Red Kinetic

Tell me how your service team runs today, and I'll show you how it could work.

We'll go through how jobs are quoted, scheduled and closed out now, where things fall through the cracks and what your managers can't see. I'll meet you at your office, at mine in Fremantle or on a video call.

You'll get a clear plan, staged so your team gets the most useful parts first, with a fixed price for each stage.
